photos to inspire

Another interest (apart from photography) that I’ve had as a youngster and again lately, has been trains. I’m a working volunteer on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway though I have to admit that I haven’t done much work over the last year for various reasons. As part of that we are busy restoring an old diesel engine (26043) which may be ready for operation this summer. I also spend a lot of time photographing trains and their engines, trying to capture something of their power and romance. Not always easy to do. I hope you like the photo above which was taken this last Christmas at Winchcombe and edited with Aperture, Photoshop and Topaz Adjust. There are more from the December steam event in the gallery here and on my flickr. btw many of my photos are offered for sale – contact me if you’re interested. DSC03969.
