photos to inspire

Shot this in the engine sidings at Toddington on the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway, a British preserved line going from Cheltenham racecourse north through Winchcombe to Toddington. It is currently being extended towards Broadway. Very popular with the public and pretty diesel friendly, hence the number of engines in the yard. These three add up to a lot of horsepower, resplendent in their rail-blue livery. 37324 Clydebridge (with 5580 behind), 24081 and 37315 and a further six diesels in the yard. This photo has been through the usual Aperture levels and then into Photoshop for Noise Ninja and Topaz Adjust with the results toned down by reducing the opacity of the layers. The finished version brings out the detail nicely without overdoing the sky. You can see the old track joints, the lineside weeds and some of the equipment lying around – all part of a busy working loco yard. See more shots here on my flickr.
