Blue Tit Investigates

Blue Tit Investigates

This blue tit in my garden thinks it is time to start nesting and so is investigating a nesting box we put out.  The shot was taken from behind the kitchen window since I didn’t want to go outside and disturb the blue tit.  Sony a350 with Sony G series 70-300mm lens stretched to its limits.  The image was then cropped and selectively sharpened (using a layer mask in Photoshop) to try to get the bird to pop from the dark and cluttered background.  A tiny bit of extra saturation added again to help the pop.  I don’t often take photos of birds so I can’t claim any real experience but I hope you like the results.  More on my flickr in the Spring 2009 set.  DSC06782.

  • [...] A while back I posted a picture of a blue tit investigating the bird box we had put in our garden.  Now the blue tit has nested and it appears there may well be some young.  Here a shot of the blue tit bringing back some food probably for the babies.  We will have to wait and see if we can get any photos of the new babies.  A Sony a350 and Sony 70-300 mm lens was used along with processing in Aperture, Photoshop and Noise Ninja.  This shot hasn’t been posted to flickr yet, but here’s a link to my “most interesting” photos.  DSC01497 Share and Enjoy: [...]
