One of the easier things you can do with Photoshop is to combine images in various ways.  This one is simply three consecutive shots on a black background – each shot a new layer.  The photos were taken summer 2007 in Oceanside, California – probably from the pier with a Sony DFC-H9, although the EXIF data has all gone missing unfortunately.  I took lots of terrible shots – but enough good ones to make it worthwhile!  Difficult to get focus, speed, aperture correct, with a lot of glare coming off the water, often shooting into the sun, and the auto-focus suffering with the constant movement of the waves.  I went back last summer with a better camera and longer lens, and I hope to return this summer. My “most interesting” surf photos on flickr are here.
