When I first published this on flickr a friend suggested it would look better in black and white than in the original colour.  So that’s what I tried.  I quite liked the result, but for this version I have cropped it square since the background didn’t seem to add anything and in any case I felt her face was slightly wrongly positioned in the frame.  I also ran it through Noise Ninja set at maximum, and then Topaz Adjust Strong HDR setting.  Finally using a mask in Photoshop I brought back the smoothed skin and background.  I hope you like the result which I think is even more “raw and edgy”.  IMG_4283
