Old Time Diesel

Old Time Diesel

This old diesel engine is one of the stalwarts of the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway based at Toddington in the UK.  Perhaps not the most good-looking of engines, and, because of limited visibility when going forwards, not the easiest engine to drive.  This shot was taken from just north of Winchcombe station at the bottom of an embankment so we are looking up at the engine and catch it against the sky.  This makes it difficult to get the exposure right for both sky and train, but Topaz Adjust helps a lot in recovering shadow detail.  Taken with Sony a350 and Tamron 17-55 mm lens.  There are more trains from this year here on my flickr.  DSC09739
