“This nice character shot is of Chris Haines awarded the MBE for services to roman history and Centurion of the Ermine Street Guard who first appeared way back in 1972 and who are one of the most respected and looked up to reenactment groups in England at an event staged by Event Plan for Gloucester City Council” so said a commentator on this photo when first seen on flickr last year.  Taken with a Sony H9 and processed in iPhoto initially.  I posted another Roman soldier here on this blog some time ago.  See more from “Gloucester through the ages” on flickr here.  DSC03718
